John Dumelo Unfazed by NPP Pressure, Confident in Retaining Ayawaso West Wuogon Seat | Discuss Ghana

Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Hon. John Dumelo, has expressed absolute confidence in his ability to retain his parliamentary seat, brushing off recent aggressive challenges from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in his constituency.

The actor-turned-politician, who flipped the historically competitive constituency for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), noted that he remains entirely unmoved by political noise. Addressing the emerging intra-party and cross-party competition ahead of upcoming electoral milestones, Dumelo re-emphasized his belief in democratic principles, stating that every qualified citizen has an inherent right to contest for leadership.

While acknowledging the NPP's intense desire to reclaim what they long considered a stronghold, the MP maintained that his primary focus is delivering on his mandate. He stated that his ongoing development projects, grassroots engagement, and commitment to the welfare of the student and resident populations within the constituency will naturally speak for themselves when voters head to the polls.
