Diaspora Traveler Backs Dr. Bawumia’s Bid After Smooth Airport Experience with Ghana Card | Discuss Ghana

A Ghanaian citizen returning from the United States has shared his highly seamless travel experience, using it as a case study for why he believes former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia deserves the opportunity to lead the nation as president.

The traveler explained that during his departure from O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, he successfully checked in for his flight using only his biometric national identity card—commonly known as the Ghana Card. According to him, the digital system integrated into the airline check-in process worked perfectly, allowing him to clear boarding protocols without being subjected to intensive manual verification or questioning from international airport officials.

Upon landing at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra, the returnee noted that the arrival and border clearance processes were equally effortless. He praised the digital infrastructure driving the Ghana Card initiative, which has been championed extensively by Dr. Bawumia under the government's digitalization agenda. Reflecting on the ease of his journey, the traveler concluded that the success of such national digital assets serves as a practical blueprint for future governance, stating that the former Vice President's visionary approach to "repairing" and modernizing the country makes him the ideal choice to lead Ghana forward.
