Ghana is honoring the memory of former President John Evans Atta Mills today, July 22, 2026, as the J.E.A. Mills Memorial Heritage hosts the 14th Commemorative Lecture at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

The event brings together leaders, academics, and citizens to reflect on the peace, humble service, and democratic values that defined the late leader. Renowned cardiothoracic surgeon Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng is delivering the keynote address under the theme "President John Evans Atta Mills, Fourteen Years On," chaired by UN Representative and former Foreign Minister Hanna Serwaa Tetteh.
The annual lecture opens a series of national remembrance events, including a wreath-laying ceremony at Asomdwee Park on July 24 and the memorial hockey tournament on July 25.
