Deputy A-G Dr Justice Srem Sai Clarifies Chairman Wontumi Had Full Legal Representation From Atta Akyea's Firm During Sentencing | Discuss Ghana

Deputy Attorney-General Dr. Justice Srem-Sai has addressed public commentary surrounding the conviction of NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), firmly debunking claims that the accused was sentenced without legal counsel.

Responding to public concerns, Dr. Srem-Sai clarified that Chairman Wontumi's legal interests were fully protected throughout the final proceedings. While lead counsel Samuel Atta Akyea was absent, he had already prepared and submitted all requisite legal applications and processes to the court beforehand.

Furthermore, a team of approximately four lawyers from Atta Akyea’s firm was present in court to represent Chairman Wontumi when the judgment was delivered.
