Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Receives Delegation of Chiefs Formally Announcing the Passing of Yaa Naa Abukari Mahama II | Discuss Ghana

Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has received a delegation of chiefs from the Dagbon Kingdom at his office to formally inform him of the passing of Overlord Ndan Yaa Naa Abukari Mahama II.

The delegation formally delivered traditional notifications regarding the late king’s transition and shared the scheduled date for the installation of the Regent of Dagbon in line with royal custom. Expressing his deep condolences to the royal family, chiefs, and people of Dagbon, Dr. Bawumia praised the late Overlord for serving the kingdom and the nation with dignity, wisdom, and a commitment to peace. He offered prayers for Allah to grant the late monarch eternal rest in Jannah and grant strength to the traditional leadership during the transition period.

Upholding traditional protocols and royal transitions remains vital for maintaining peace, unity, and cultural continuity within traditional states across Ghana.
