In a deeply moving humanitarian gesture, global dancehall star Stonebwoy and his wife, Dr. Louisa Satekla, visited the Nsawam Medium Security Prison yesterday, Monday, April 13, 2026.
The visit, organized through his Livingstone Foundation, went beyond a typical donation, sparking emotional scenes as the musician came face-to-face with the harsh realities of incarceration.

Highlights of the Humanitarian Outreach
Essential Supplies: The foundation donated a significant cache of food items, toiletries, and medical essentials to the inmates to help alleviate the facility's resource constraints.
A Heartbreaking Encounter: During his performance and engagement with the inmates, Stonebwoy was visibly moved to tears.
Annual Concert Pledge: In a historic first for the facility, Stonebwoy pledged to organize a free annual concert for the inmates at Nsawam to provide them with hope, entertainment, and a sense of connection to the outside world.
The Motivation: "When You Give, You Get"
Speaking to the press after the event, Stonebwoy lamented the difficult conditions within the prison system, specifically pointing to the low daily feeding rates:
“Conditions are not as conducive... how much more for those behind bars who are living off a minimum wage of between GH₵1 and GH₵3? How much does foodstuff even cost?” — Stonebwoy.
He emphasized that anyone could end up in such a situation depending on life's circumstances and urged the public to be more empathetic toward the rehabilitation of prisoners.
