Honoring the Fallen: 78th Anniversary of the 28th February Crossroads Shooting | Discuss Ghana

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang arrived at the Nationalism Park in Osu, Accra, as the Special Guest of Honour to commemorate the 78th Anniversary of the 1948 Christiansborg Crossroads Shooting incident.

The solemn ceremony, attended by high-ranking government officials, military leaders, and families of the fallen, honors the three ex-servicemen—Sergeant Adjetey, Corporal Attipoe, and Private Odartey Lamptey—whose deaths sparked the 1948 Accra riots and accelerated Ghana’s journey toward independence.
