President John Dramani Mahama Marks 14th Anniversary of Former President Atta Mills' Passing | Discuss Ghana

President John Dramani Mahama has led government officials, diplomatic corps members, and political leaders in paying homage to late President John Evans Atta Mills during a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at Asomdwee Park to mark the 14th anniversary of his passing.

Addressing attendees at the memorial service near Osu Castle, President Mahama paid tribute to his former mentor, describing Professor Atta Mills as a leader whose governance was anchored in humility, integrity, and deep moral conviction. Emphasizing that Atta Mills' vision of a peaceful, just, and prosperous Ghana remains a guiding principle for the nation, President Mahama pledged to continue honoring his legacy by championing ethical public leadership, strengthening democratic institutions, and prioritizing social protection for vulnerable citizens. Wreaths were also laid on behalf of Parliament, the former First Lady Ernestina Naadu Mills, the NDC, and the J.E.A. Mills Memorial Heritage.
