The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially taken over the legal defence of its Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, in the ongoing EXIM Bank fraud and financial loss case before the Accra High Court.
The transition was confirmed on July 27 after senior advocate Samuel Atta Akyea informed the court that he had taken over lead defence representation following the withdrawal of previous counsel Andy Appiah-Kubi.
The strategic legal realignment comes as the NPP continues to provide institutional support to key leadership figures navigating concurrent court proceedings.
