Joseph Yamin Urges EOCO to Speed Up Galamsey Probe and Publish Findings | Discuss Ghana

National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Yamin, has called on the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) to expedite its ongoing investigations into illegal mining allegations leveled against him and make its findings public.

His call comes amidst heightened public scrutiny following calls from the Minority Caucus in Parliament for transparency regarding all state-led galamsey probes. Mr. Yandoh and other opposition leaders raised concerns over selective justice following the recent conviction of NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako. In response, Mr. Yamin stated that he welcomes a thorough, swift, and open investigation, expressing confidence that publishing the final report will clear his name and set the record straight for the Ghanaian public.

Ensuring swift and transparent investigations into public figures is essential for maintaining institutional integrity and public faith in the rule of law.
