Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson Maintains 2026 Budget Targets Without Supplementary Request | Discuss Ghana

Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has informed Parliament that the government will not seek additional funding or request supplementary estimates for the remainder of the 2026 financial year.

Presenting the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review before lawmakers, Dr. Ato Forson affirmed that the original fiscal targets and expenditure framework approved under the 2026 Appropriations Act remain unchanged and on track. He highlighted that revenue mobilization efforts and spending discipline during the first half of the year have kept state finances within projected boundaries, allowing the government to execute key infrastructure and social protection programs without expanding public borrowing.

Maintaining strict fiscal discipline and adhering to pre-approved spending targets remain critical for maintaining macroeconomic stability and strengthening investor confidence.
