Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, the Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), has been awarded the Best Performing CEO of the Year at the 6th Ministers of State Awards.

The prestigious honor recognizes his exceptional leadership and successful administrative overhauls at the authority. Under his stewardship, the DVLA has seen significant advancements in public sector digitalization and operational efficiency.

Key Achievements

The evaluation panel highlighted several key milestones that contributed to his win:

License Backlog Cleared: Implementing a 24-hour shift system at the DVLA Print Farm and key regional offices to successfully clear a backlog of over 440,000 driver's licenses.

Revenue Leakages Blocked: Replacing traditional "Drive from Port" (DP) aluminum plates with advanced, securitized, non-transferable stickers to enhance vehicle tracking and secure state revenue.

Service Modernization: Expanding tech-driven Ultra Service Centres through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and laying the groundwork for vehicle registration number plates embedded with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology.
