The document, a ten-year blueprint, marks a pivotal moment in the administration's "Digital Reset," shifting the nation's focus from being mere consumers of global technology to becoming African leaders in AI production and regulation.

Key Takeaways from the Minister’s Address

Hon. Sam George emphasized that the strategy is not just a policy document but a "national survival kit" for the age of intelligence.

Sector-Wide Adoption: The strategy targets critical improvements in healthcare, agriculture, and finance through AI-driven predictive analytics and automation.

Sovereignty & Skills: A major pillar is the "One Million Coders" initiative, now expanded to include specialized AI training. The Minister noted, "We are moving from dependency to sovereignty," ensuring Ghana owns the data and algorithms shaping its future.

Responsible Use: The Minister called on the judiciary to help guide the ethical application of AI, ensuring that innovation does not come at the expense of data protection or human rights.

The Infrastructure: $250 Million AI Compute Centre

As part of the strategy's rollout, Sam George highlighted the upcoming $250 million AI Compute Centre.

High-Performance Computing: The facility will provide the massive processing power required for local startups and researchers to build complex AI models.

Huawei Partnership: The Minister referenced a recent deal with Huawei Technologies to provide free AI training for 3,000 girls, catching them young and funneling them into the national tech pipeline.
