In a heated exchange following a parliamentary stakeholder engagement on the Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill, the Member of Parliament for Assin South and Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has forcefully denied any association with transgender musician and TikToker Angel Maxine.
The denial, issued just five days ago on Thursday, April 23, 2026, follows viral social media claims and a subtle "mocking" reference by fellow MP Sam George during deliberations on the Bill.
The Denial of Association
Rev. Ntim Fordjour characterized the claims as a desperate attempt by activists to discredit the sponsors of the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill.
No Personal Contact: "I have never met Tiktoker Angel Maxine. Contrary to his claim, I have never engaged in any sexual intercourse with Maxine in his past or present life," the MP stated on his official channels.
The "Attention" Argument: The Reverend Minister argued that the transgender musician is "politically emboldened" and is simply seeking attention to gain international sympathy. He stated that he would not "give him the platform" by engaging in a back-and-forth media battle.
The Sam George "Drag": The issue gained national attention after Hon. Sam George, during a clause-by-clause consideration of the Bill, reportedly mocked Rev. Fordjour using Angel Maxine’s name, prompting a stern response from the Assin South MP about "maintaining the dignity of the House."
Political Context: Defence and Interior Role
Rev. Ntim Fordjour’s current role adds weight to his public standing.
Ranking Member: As the Ranking Member of Parliament's Defence and Interior Committee in 2026, he oversees sensitive national security and law enforcement issues.
Moral Crusader: He has long branded himself as a "moral compass" in Parliament, serving as the Senior Pastor of Victory Bible Church International.
Bill Sponsorship: Along with Sam George, he is one of the eight original sponsors of the Bill, making him a primary target for pro-LGBTQ+ activists.
Current Status of the Allegations
As of today, Tuesday, April 28, 2026, no physical evidence has been provided by any party to support the claims of a relationship. The MP’s supporters have dismissed the rumors as "coordinated character assassination" designed to weaken the moral authority of those pushing for the Bill’s passage before the 2026 elections.
