President John Dramani Mahama was today accorded a grand ceremonial welcome at the Belarusian Presidential Palace in Minsk, where he held high-profile bilateral discussions with President Alexander Lukashenko as part of his ongoing State Visit to the Republic of Belarus.

The extensive executive engagements culminated in the official signing of three historic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at systematically strengthening cooperation between Ghana and Belarus across key areas of mutual economic interest. The state agreements are designed to deepen bilateral relations, expand market access, and advance industrial cooperation in sectors that support sustainable national growth.

The Three Pillars of Cooperation

The signed frameworks establish a formal, legally backed roadmap to guide the next phase of diplomatic and commercial partnerships between the two republics:

Trade and Economic Affairs: The establishment of a Joint Commission for Cooperation to oversee trade policies, reduce tariffs, and eliminate barriers to cross-border investment.

Chamber of Commerce Integration: Enhanced collaboration between the respective Chambers of Commerce of both countries to facilitate direct business-to-business networking and joint ventures.

Agricultural Revolution: A comprehensive cooperation framework in the field of agriculture to allow Ghana to tap into Belarus's advanced manufacturing techniques, heavy farming equipment pipelines, and agro-processing systems.
