"President Hisense" Student Poet Delights Mahama at Independence Parade | Discuss Ghana

During Ghana’s 69th Independence Day celebration on Friday, March 6, 2026, a student from St. John Bosco R/C Basic School went viral after delivering a humorous and praising poem that brought a wide smile to President John Dramani Mahama.

Performing at the Jubilee House forecourt, the female student poet referred to the President as "Ɔmanpanyin Hisense" (President Hisense), a moniker that immediately began trending on social media.
