In a major breakthrough for the Ghana Police Service, IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno confirmed on Sunday, February 22, 2026, that the primary suspects behind the brutal murder of Mr. Andrew, the father-in-law of NDC National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi, have been apprehended.
The operation, which targeted a violent robbery cell known as the Duku Syndicate (also linked to the Ohwim robbery), led to the arrest of four suspects and the neutralizing of the gang's leader during a shootout in the Ashanti Region.

The Fatal Attack in Kumasi
The tragic incident occurred in mid-February 2026, when armed robbers attacked Mr. Andrew's residence in an upscale part of Kumasi.
The Incident: During a violent armed robbery attempt, Mr. Andrew was reportedly shot after resisting the attackers. He was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, February 19.
High-Level Investigation: Due to the profile of the victim and the brutality of the crime, the IGP personally directed the Intelligence Directorate to lead a specialized manhunt for the perpetrators.
