In a massive philanthropic move, world-renowned YouTuber MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson) released a video on Saturday, February 21, 2026, detailing his project to rebuild 10 schools around the world, with Ghana serving as the primary focus.
The project, which has already seen over $500,000 invested, is expected to cost over $1 million by the end of the year as his team continues to develop the surrounding community.

Transforming the "Dangerous" School
The center of the project involved an undisclosed community in Ghana where the existing school structure was deemed "too dangerous for use".
Complete Rebuild: MrBeast and his team tore down the unsafe buildings and replaced them with fully furnished, modern classroom blocks.
Clean Water Access: A new borehole was dug on the school grounds, providing a reliable source of clean water for both the students and the broader community.
Teacher Support: After discovering that two teachers, Joseph and Emmanuel, were spending most of their salaries on long commutes, MrBeast built and fully furnished a two-apartment teacher’s bungalow on-site.
Sanitation: The project included the construction of new washroom facilities and a fully stocked kitchen.
Free Lunches Until 2030
In a partnership with the Rockefeller Foundation, MrBeast announced a long-term commitment to student health and attendance.
The Meal Program: The school will receive free lunches for every student until the year 2030.
Proven Impact: Early results showed that student attendance surged by 10% immediately after the meal program was introduced.
Enstooled as a Development Chief
To honor his contribution to the local community, MrBeast was formally enstooled as a Development Chief in the village. This traditional Ghanaian honor recognizes individuals who have made significant impacts on local infrastructure and social welfare.
This school project follows a string of recent humanitarian efforts by MrBeast in Ghana, including:
Medical Aid: Partnering with Ghana Make a Difference (GMAD) to build a surgical center in the Central Region for children rescued from slavery.
Global Village Rebuild: A separate initiative announced in January 2026 to rebuild an entire village in partnership with Ghanaian vlogger Wode Maya and 20 other global creators.
