The Victim's Account: "Unexpected and Unprovoked"
Fiadzigbe maintains that he gave no provocation to the group of students from the Swedru School of Business (SWESBUS) who ambushed him.
Seeking Medical Help: The victim explained that at the time of the attack, he was actually trying to attend to a persistent eye issue.
The Ambush: While he was vulnerable and focused on his medical need, he was suddenly surrounded by a mob. "It happened unexpectedly," he stated, describing how he was pelted with large stones and beaten with sticks.
Severe Injuries: The assault was so severe that Fiadzigbe was left unconscious and critically injured. He is currently receiving treatment for multiple head and body injuries at a health facility in the Central Region.
Justice in Motion: Arrests and Suspensions
The police and educational authorities have moved swiftly following the public outcry over the viral video.
Three Students in Custody: As of February 24, 2026, the police have confirmed the arrest of three SWESBUS students: Joseph Amoh (20), Benedict Appiah (18), and Bilal Mamud (18). They were handed over to the Swedru Divisional Police Command after a 24-hour ultimatum was issued to the school.
Regional Games Halted: In a direct response to the "hooliganism," the Ghana Education Service (GES) Central Regional Directorate has suspended all ongoing zonal inter-school sporting activities indefinitely to prevent further clashes.
Investigation Ongoing: Police are currently interrogating the suspects to identify other accomplices seen in the viral footage, with the intention of arraigning them before the court for assault and causing harm.
